Who is More the Fool?

Thor paced restlessly around,
For he had just lost his prized ax.
Luckily for him, the trickster god, Loki
Thought he knew where it was. So, after
Transforming into an eagle, off Loki flew
To Thrym the king of the giants whom he suspected.

“Oh, terrible happenings with us gods today.” Loki cawed,
With fake emotion.

“Really?” Thrym sneered, “And why would you gods have anything to complain of?”

“Thor has lost his precious hammer,
And if he does not get it back,
We are all in danger!”

“Why? Thor never really uses that ax anyway.”

Loki’s eyes widened with fake surprise,
“How can you say that!?
If there is an attack, how are we
To defend ourselves without
Our most powerful of weapons?”

Thrym sighed, “Loki, you know full well that I took his ax, do not toy with me as the other gods do.”

Loki raised his eyebrows,
“Is this why you took the ax?
To get back at us gods?”

“That’s right.”

“Then you’re a fool, Thrym.”

“Who is more the fool? The one giant who stole the ax, or the many gods who lost it?”
After reading the myth of Thor's stolen hammer.
